Teen Critic

Designed for high school students interested in theatre, journalism and/or critical writing, the Teen Critic Program teaches students how to view productions with a critical eye and write a savvy, persuasive theatre review.

Over the course of a full season, Teen Critics will meet as a group to attend each production and meet with professional theatre critics before writing their own reviews.

Students will also participate in writing workshops, giving them the tools to assess artistry onstage and articulate their opinions effectively.

STC’s Audience Enrichment Manager will work with the Critics on revisions of each article to prepare them for publication online or in school newspapers.

To apply

Fill out the online Teen Critic Program Application.
Submit a sample critical review of no more than 800 words (on theatre, television or film) and letter of recommendation from a teacher.
