Three friends. One wedding. Two existential crises.

Even as you grow old and apart, old friends have ways of coming back to haunt you. After falling out of contact for five years, high school classmates El and Elliott receive April’s wedding invitation, forcing them to alter their perceptions of the world and how they choose to fit into it. God is Dead and April’s Getting Married follows these three friends as they attempt to reconcile memory with reality, exploring the intersections between queerness, religion and friendship.

Written by STC Artistic Fellow Anna Alison Brenner and helmed by Directing Fellow Charlie Marie McGrath, God is Dead and April’s Getting Married is a STC Fellow Production—produced, designed and promoted exclusively by STC’s 2016–2017 Fellow Cohort. Local D.C. guest actors Eleanor Todd (El), Neal Gallini-Burdick (Elliot) and Miranda Rizzolo (April) comprise the ensemble.

STC’s Professional Fellowship program provides approximately 20 season-long fellowship positions in all areas of the theatre, working alongside renowned designers, actors, artists and administrative professionals. Learn more.
