We get to hear all about lovesick Romeo’s infatuation with the mysterious Rosaline—but what was Juliet thinking about before that fateful night? Her parents are angling to marry her off to Paris and have asked her to check him out while attending the party, sure that she’ll instantly love him. We don’t get to hear much of her thoughts on the matter—just this:

“I’ll look to like, if looking liking move.
But no more deep will I endart mine eye
Than your consent gives strength to make it fly.”
(act 1, scene 4)
